This week, we have one more look at the baptism of Jesus from John's gospel. It's been called the immaculate baptism--no human hands involved if we read the text carefully. Yet, the language John uses to identify Jesus is so very specific... Lamb of God. This brings up images of Passover lambs and scapegoats. John doesn't name Jesus, he gives us a mission statement for THE Messiah of God, and we are invited to follow in his way.
