Easter begins as a new day dawns... the timing synonomous with the magnitude of the event as beginning, inception, genesis, emergence, arrival, and rising up of new life. The message comes first to the women, who flee in terror and amazement. Mark's gospel ends at verse 8, as the good news mingles with shock and awe. That abrupt ending becomes our invitation to open the story to its beginning and tell the good news of Jesus Christ.
